Conclusions


Businesses are operating in an increasingly uncertain world driven by a period of rapid political, regulatory and economic change.

This environment has created new risks for companies as they seek to meet ambitious revenue targets.

At the same time, the challenges of fraud, bribery and corruption remain.

Our survey reveals that unethical conduct and mistrust among colleagues are key characteristics of today’s workforce, particularly among younger generations. Worryingly, those individuals who have concerns are either hesitant, or do not know how to come forward.

Companies can respond to these challenges by both motivating their employees to do the right thing and by leveraging technological advances to identify and detect misconduct when it is not reported.

Information is the key to mitigating the risks and businesses should maximize the value they get from their data. This can be achieved by making better use of machine logic and embracing the opportunities arising from an increasingly disrupted world.
